Creating with Alpaca Fiber Playshop

The alpacas of Black Walnut Farm get a haircut once a year and their hair – called fleece or fiber – has many uses from being made into yarn to warming a wild animal’s nest to felted objects and clothing. In this Summertime Playshop, you’ll be making cat toys with alpaca fleece and dried catmint from the farmstead’s gardens, (for those who don’t have cats, yours can be made with another herb and used as an ornament!,) you’ll get to try your hand at carding and spinning raw fiber into a rustic yarn, and you’ll play with a simple felting project. Of course, the alpaca boys would love to meet you while you’re here too so a brief visit to the alpaca pasture will be part of your time here as well! All materials included in your register.
